WALL STREET TIPTOES AHEAD OF “LIBERATION DAY.” The markets kept it chill Tuesday after Monday’s tariff-fueled sprint. The S&P 500 edged up 0.2%, the Dow barely moved (+4 points), and the Nasdaq rose 0.5% — a soft landing after Monday’s 1.8% surge.
Traders are cautiously optimistic that Trump’s April 2 “Liberation Day” tariff plan might be more targeted than feared — not a full-on trade war, but a calculated flex. Stocks have clawed back some ground from this month’s correction, but the S&P 500 still sits 6% off its all-time high.
