National Security Council's former spokesperson briefs mtf.tv’s meet the future fellows

Ben Chang, vice president of communications at Columbia University, says careers in foreign service and diplomacy lead to life-changing opportunities.

Chang, who previously worked as a spokesperson for the National Security Council and as a DJ to President Barack Obama took questions from mtf.tv’s meet the future fellows about how working in the foreign service can lead to a long and productive career.

Chang discussed the importance of embracing democracy — including freedom of speech — while advancing throughout multiple industries in a global environment. Chang told the undergraduate fellows that planting seeds and building authentic friendships can lead to long-term solutions in the communications field. Change recalled the time he appeared on mtf.tv’s meet the future fellowship founder Kevin Cirilli’s show on Bloomberg News, which prompted multiple appearances throughout the show’s run.
