WASHINGTON D.C. –

mtf.tv’s meet the future fellowship program co-hosted the Washington D.C. premiere of Majority Rules – from award-winning film director AJ Schnack at the DC/DOX film festival.

The full length political documentary from Schnack (Caucus, Convention) covers an unexpectedly early election season in Alaska that tested 2020 reforms introducing a nonpartisan open primary and a general election determined by ranked-choice voting, exploring what this new frontier of democracy means to Americans.

Nick Troiano, the executive director and founder of Unite America, a philanthropic venture fund for nonpartisan election reform, formed a key part of the very diverse team that produced the documentary.

Senior meet the future fellows Anna Maag and Grant Hoscheit worked with DC/DOX organizers on the premiere of the film, in which more than 100 attendees got an advanced screening of the film at Washington’s historic Landmark's E Street Cinema,

Following the film screening, Washington Post columnist Karen Tumulty interviewed AJ Schnack, Congresswoman Mary Peltola (D-Alaska) and Senator Lisa Markowski (R-Alaska), who were featured in the film.

Troiano said:

"It was such a privilege to work with AJ [Schnack] and team to chronicle this historic moment for our nation. And mtf.tv's meet the future was the perfect partner for our D.C. premiere host committee given their strong belief in future-focused ideas for our democracy. For voters frustrated with our political system, Majority Rules provides some much-needed hope that change is possible.”
