Student-led Fireside Chat Series Kicks-off with Ron Hammond, Director of Government Relations at Blockchain Association
Washington, D.C. – mtf.tv’s meet the future Fellowship Program has proudly launched its undergraduate-led fall semester fireside chat series, with the inaugural session held Wednesday, August 28. The exclusive event featured Ron Hammond, Director of Government Relations at the Blockchain Association, who shared his insights on the future of cryptocurrency, its intersection with politics, and offered invaluable career advice to the next generation of leaders.
The fireside chat with Hammond, a pivotal figure in shaping cryptocurrency regulation, provided fellows with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding crypto in the context of American democracy. Hammond's discussion touched on key legislation like the Token Taxonomy Act and the Federal Reserve Regulatory Oversight Act, and he offered a critical analysis of the U.S.'s position in global crypto discussions.
Undergraduate-led initiative
A defining feature of mtf.tv’s meet the future Fellowship Program is that its fellows are not just participants—they are the drivers of its initiatives. Each fellow pitches, plans, promotes, produces and moderates one fireside chat, while also working with the other fellows on their fireside chats. The first fireside chat was organized and expertly moderated by mtf.tv’s meet the future Fellowship Program Executive Director Polina Chubarova, GW ‘26.
